Illegals Dodge Disease Screenings

Illegal immigrants and border crossers are being dumped the interior of the country without going through basic disease screenings and medical examinations, according to the Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Kevin McAleenan.

This week, in written testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee, McAleenan publicly recognized that thousands upon thousands of illegal immigrants and border crossers that the DHS is releasing into the interior of the country each week are not being medically examined or checked for diseases.

In his testimony, McAleenan wrote, “The public health risk — family units are released into our communities with unknown vaccination status and without a standard medical examination for communicable diseases of public health concern, as well as a public health risk of a disease outbreak at processing facilities.”

Since December of last year, the DHS has let go almost 205,00 illegal immigrants and border crossers into the country’s interior. The vast majority of which will never be deported. In the last half year, an astounding 1,000 illegal immigrants each and every day have been released into the country by the DHS.

Most of them are being dumped in cities close to the US-Mexico border like Phoenix, Arizona, San Diego, California, El Paso, Texas, and San Antonio, Texas.

In March, Immigration and Customs Enforcement reported that of the 50,000 migrants currently in federal detention facilities, 2,287 of them were in quarantine with diseases which have – by in large – been eradicated from the United States like mumps and chicken pox, just to name a couple. According to the report, many were also sick with different strains of influenza.

Also in March, federal immigration officials reported that they were, on average, referring around 55 illegal immigrants per day to hospitals. If things continue at this rate, a whopping 31,000 illegal immigrants will be referred to American hospitals this year. That’s almost a 160 percent increase in the number of hospital referrals for illegal immigrants from 2018.

Meanwhile, poor and working-class Americans can’t afford to go see a doctor. But even if they themselves are able to go to a hospital, that doesn’t mean they’re not paying for illegal immigrants to.

According to data obtained from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) by Breitbart News, each year, U.S. taxpayers are forced to pay for the medical costs of illegal immigrants in federal custody to the tune of 250 million dollars.

Apart from that, illegal immigrants and their children cost our taxpayers over 17 billion dollars in medical expenses alone, according to research conducted by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).
