More Questions Than Answers In Epstein’s Apparent Suicide

A few day after being found dead in his jail cell, there are still many more questions than answers revolving around the apparent suicide of accused billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Conspiracy theories aside – and there are many – there are many inconsistencies and causes for concern surrounding the disgraced financer’s death. As reported by the Associated Press, even though Epstein had been removed from suicide watch, he was in a part of the prison where guards were required to check on him every 30 minutes. And yet, Fox News is reporting that correctional officers at the prison didn’t check in on him “for hours” leading up to his apparent suicide on Saturday.

No one has yet offered any explanation as to why, Epstein, who had apparently attempted suicide 2 weeks ago, was taken off suicide watch. Furthermore, his cellmate was mysteriously transferred prior to that period of hours where he went unchecked.

Epstein was supposed to have a cellmate. But the person who was assigned to share a cell with Epstein was transferred for undisclosed reasons before the 66-year-old’s death. No one in authority at the prison has made it clear as to why the cellmate was transferred, nor why there was not someone else assigned to room with Epstein once his original cellmate was moved. Corrections policy is that inmates who have been taken off of suicide watch, are still supposed to have cellmates.

Epstein, 66, was found unconscious in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, and later pronounced dead.

A person “familiar with the matter” told Fox News, that for “several hours” leading up to his death, correctional officers hadn’t checked in with Epstein — despite being required to visit him every 30 minutes. The Washington Post corroborated this report.

Epstein was placed on suicide watch in July and had been given psychiatric evaluations after he was discovered with bruising on his neck, but was taken off suicide watch at the end of July.

Barbara Sampson, New York City’s chief medical examiner, said Sunday that an autopsy was performed on Epstein, but instead of providing any definitive answers, the autopsy raised more questions, as Sampson in a statement to the press said, “more information was needed before a cause of death was determined.”

These question and more have prompted many to believe that someone may have been paid-off to “look the other way.”

Epstein’s death has sparked a veritable flood of conspiracy theories about how the disgraced financier met his end. Questions have also been raised about how the Bureau of Prisons ensures the welfare of high-profile inmates.

Epstein had been accused of sexually abusing dozens of young girls in his Upper East Side townhouse and his waterfront mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, between 2002 and 2005. He had pleaded not guilty but was denied bail and faced up to 45 years in prison if convicted.

Attorney General William Barr has blasted corrections officials and vowed to investigate the “serious irregularities” uncovered at the federal prison in Manhattan where accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein was held and found dead Saturday morning. Barr’s criticism came amid complaints about squalid, rat-infested cells, while union official’s warnings about overworked employees at the understaffed facility went unheeded.

Barr vowed a comprehensive probe by the FBI and the Justice Department inspector general as the new and disturbing revelations emerged Monday from lawyers and others who say the failings at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Lower Manhattan have been ignored for years.
