Elderly European Woman Murdered In Cold Blood

An 88-year-old woman has died at a hospital in Antwerp, Belgium after having her throat cut on the street by an immigrant man.

The attack took place Antwerp student area, in the Raapstraat. The elderly woman is reported to have been rushed to the hospital after sustaining life-threatening injuries the cut to her throat. Tragically, the women succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital, Het Laatste Nieuws reports.

The attacker, who’s said to be a man of Eastern European origin, fled the scene before he was found and arrested by police on Sunday evening. Prosecutors in Antwerp have confirmed that the assailant was indeed taken into police custody.

An investigation into the murder has since been launched. Preliminary findings suggest that the immigrant perpetrator may have lived in the same building as the 88-year-old victim.

Stéphanie Chomé of Antwerp Public Prosecutor confirmed, “An investigating judge has been requested for manslaughter.”

“The circumstances are being fully investigated. The investigating judge has currently introduced a communication stop in the interest of the investigation. We can confirm that the police arrested another suspect on Sunday evening. No further information is provided about this suspect for the time being,” Chomé added.

The immigrant murder comes just one week after a 15-year-old Belgian boy was savagely beaten by a group of five immigrant men in the municipality of Kalmthout in Antwerp. The 15-year-old was hospitalized with severe injuries to his face as a result of the attack.

At the beginning of October, in Herentals, a city in the province of Antwerp, a public transport controller was sent to the hospital with a broken nose after he was punched in the face by an African migrant who he caught riding the bus without a valid transport ticket.
