Prince Andrews 60th Birthday Comes and Goes With a Whimper!

Normally a milestone birthday like 60 for a Royal would be met with much fanfare and national pomp and circumstance. However in the case of Prince Andrew, not so much!

According to the London Daily Mail, Andrew’s 60th birthday has been shunned by most of his pals, while Sarah Ferguson ‘scrambles’ to make up the numbers of those in attendance. The Duke of York was sacked from royal duties after increased scrutiny over his relationship with disgraced pedophile, Jeffrey Epstein.

The Mail claims that it was that fall from grace that caused the sharp decline in those willing to celebrate his 60th birthday. It was reported a number of guests have said they were “unavailable” for the night’s festivities.

The party itself is a scaled-down version of what had initially been planned for the Queen’s son, which would have seen a large scale party for the milestone birthday. But instead, the event will be marked with a “small family dinner” in the wake of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly among those who have snubbed an invite to the birthday party. It is believed the Sussexes will instead send a gift and a video message to be played at the festivities.

More controversy around Andrew’s dinner boiled over earlier this month when it was revealed an email was sent to councils reminding them to fly the flag for the prince’s birthday on February 19.

But the policy had since been changed, with the government saying there is “no requirement” to fly flags for Prince Andrew.

Andrew was “relieved” of his royal duties following a now-infamous Newsnight interview, in which he failed to adequately explain his relationship with financier and convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and was accused of showing a lack of empathy with Epstein’s victims.

The financier was found dead in jail last year while awaiting trial for sex trafficking offences.

In January, authorities announced Andrew has refused to cooperate with federal investigators from America, as they continue their probe into Epstein.
