Democratic members of Congress are under fire after gruesome photos were released of National Guardsmen being forced to sleep in parking garages with minimal access to bathrooms.
“Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Schumer—why are American troops who are tasked with keeping security at the Capitol being forced to sleep in a parking lot?” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) asked in a tweet. “They deserve to be treated with respect, and we deserve answers.”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has not yet put out a statement. However, her daughter, Christine Pelosi, tweeted back at McCarthy, saying, “Shhhh Don’s in Florida and off Twitter. You don’t have to rage tweet his deflections anymore. PS the Guard are out of the garage and back at the Capitol no thanks to you.”
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) responded to the report by saying that it was “outrageous” and he would “get to the bottom of this.”
“Speaker Pelosi personally met with the Secretary of the Army to demand 14,000 National Guard troops be deployed to the Capitol,” a source said. “But there was no logistical plan provided by the Speaker’s office on where the service members would sleep.”
National Guardsman gave the following statements to various news outlets:
- A National Guardsman told Politico: “Yesterday dozens of senators and congressmen walked down our lines taking photos, shaking our hands and thanking us for our service. Within 24 hours, they had no further use for us and banished us to the corner of a parking garage. We feel incredibly betrayed.”
- A National Guardsman told Task & Purpose: “It’s pissed a lot of dudes off. … It’s f***ed up because it just shows how politicians really feel about the National Guard.”
- A National Guardsman, who reportedly had served in Iraq and Afghanistan, told The Washington Post: “I’ve never in my entire career felt like I’ve been booted onto the curb and told, ‘Figure it out on your own.’”
Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany emphasized a statement from Representative Steve Cohen (D-TN), who suggested during a CNN interview that members of National Guard could pose a security threat to Joe Biden.
“On Monday, a Democrat congressman said most of the National Guard likely voted for Trump and were therefore security threats,” McEnany wrote. “Last night, our National Guardsmen were banished to a parking garage. They are HEROES & deserve better than this!!!”
Combat veteran Sean Parnell said in a tweet, “The photo op is over. @JoeBiden used our troops as props. Administrations change. Career politicians don’t.”
Rep. Michelle Fischbach’s (R-MN) communications adviser Jake Schneider said, “This is happening in Nancy Pelosi’s House, Chuck Schumer’s Senate, and Joe Biden’s America.”
Travis Wines, a self-described “Trump supporting Democrat,” wrote, “Those of us that served when Biden was VP knew he didn’t care about the military.”
Attorney Matt Rooney said, “Kids in Cages: the Biden Administration Edition.”
Demacrats look in the mirror! The. Bible points out we are all sinners. BUT the Bible also points out hypocrisy. It only took a few days to see your hypocrisy. You enjoy the safety of the military but you treat them as a servant class. ” You may leave now, go to the garage and sleep on the floor as you are inferior to President Biden and his clan.”
I myself am a Combat Veteran and I am outraged after seeing my brothers and sisters forced into a garage during a Pandemic mind you force in like Sardines. What happened to Joe “The Puppet” Biden and his promises to keep people safe from the virus. After this came to light Mrs Biden shows up with cookies for our heros are you kidding me.
I heard that Pres. Trump offered those soldiers thrown out in the street by Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, to come and stay at his beautiful hotel. He would take care of them and make sure they were fed.
China Joe, Piglosi, Sickening Schumer only care about themselves and greed and power.
I can guess at the chewing the “aides” got, who “made the decision” to decamp the Guard to the outdoors concrete. “What in Hell’s name were you thinking ? Don’t you know that probably half of our supporters expect you to treat those cannon fodder grunts as if they were actually human. Its a good thing that the Demorat electorate are so stupid, and will forget all about this for ’24, or we would have to fraud even more votes than the last 11.5 million in ’20 “.

If this can happen to our troops, what do you think will happen to the rest of us? Those in congress who object to this kind of treatment need to get a plan together to save our country.

I was so aghast at what I saw how this new administration of Biden/ Harris would treat the military. Aren’t they human beings too like the president/ vice and leaders of congress like Pelosi or Schumer who need respect in as much as they are used as shield against would be criminals or evil perpetrators? Are they just tools to be used and exploited as to not give them proper accomodations? If the Liberals have one thing in common is to leave the hard working citizens to dry and show off to other nations how rich America is by giving away hard earned tax payers money to others without thinking of the many homeless begging veterans on our streets. They only think of perpetuating their power even to the extent of getting dark money from big donors in & out of the country which could put America under the control of foreign influence.
The US military is our national security and protection, good care, treatment, benefits etc is well deserved. President Biden seems blinded to the importance of our US military, its history and role as protectors of liberty. And the IDF , Israel too.
Pretty sad that they can call up our troops and don’t provide quarters for them.
I think the Democrats considering the National Guardsmen who may have voted Republican as a security risk just shows how uninformed our politicians are. As a Vietnam Veteran who served in the Navy, I served under both Democrat and Republican presidents. When I took the oath I swore to defend the constitution and protect this country from threats both foreign and domestic. Nowhere in that oath did it say unless you disagree with the party that is in power.
If you are going to be the commander in chief, then be one. Respect our country and troops and they will give you 110% regardless of what party you came from.
Our troops love this country and don’t on the whole think about who they voted for when they are doing their job. The election is over and you won, so get to work and quit trying to devide this country over something that really isn’t an issue.
Up until recently the US was known for its ability to speak as you wanted. You don’t have to agree with everything that is said but it doesn’t mean that opinion is wrong it’s just a different opinion than yours. That’s why we have elections. This anger over a person’s right to their own opinion just drives me crazy. When you try to stop free speech all you accomplish is to make the people being discriminated against defensive.
Let’s not forget that our constitution guarantees ALL Americans Freedom of Speech. Not just the Democrats or the Republicans.
