Five months after a two-year-old girl died, police have finally arrested the 37-year-old daycare owner that was watching the girl when she died.Kaylee Thomas died at the home of Jessica Anne Cherry on August 18, 2020. At the time, police ruled the death indeterminate. But this week, the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide. Detectives immediately arrested and charged Cherry with second degree murder. After the child died, police obtained a search warrant. They found a Ring camera inside the daycare that had been turned to face a television screen.
But in the reflection of the TV screen, police were able to see multiple instances of abuse against other children the week before Thomas died.Police claim they saw Cherry covering a baby’s nose and mouth with a cloth, and then leaving the room.Police say they also saw Cherry slap an infant. An audio of the child crying was played in court during a bond hearing.
Cherry was charged with two counts of gross wanton or reckless care for a child, two counts of endangerment cruelty or injuries to children, stab/cutwounds with malicious intent and attempted malicious wounding.During that same bond hearing, it was discovered that Thomas was not the first child to die under Cherry’s care. In January of last year, she was being investigated after a one-year-old boy was found unresponsive at her home. He died in the hospital 4 days later.
May the child and others who were abused or suffered death find peace in the hands of a loving God.
May justice take place .
God Bless the innocent 😇 👶 children.
