Joshua Johnson, the Sunday evening host for MSNBC, provided a bit more evidence for the networks’ devotion to propaganda over a fair and balanced analysis of the news. You know, the kind that requires both sides to be heard.
The topic of the moment was the future prospects for the Democratic and Republican parties. That is a worthy topic at this point on the political calendar.
National Chairman Tom Perez was representing the Democratic Party. As always, Perez was an over-the-top advocate for his side. The new administration would bring peace, unity, and prosperity. It would make America again that “golden house on the hill.” Well … he did not actually plagiarize that phrase from President Reagan, as many Democrats have. But it was the same idea. It was one of those everything-for-everybody sales pitches.
Now I do not fault Perez. In his position, he is the number one salesman for the Democrats. And he is the lead prosecutor of the Republican Party. He does his job.
Then there was the counterpoint.
Well, actually there was no counterpoint. Carrying the water for the GOP was former National Chairman Michael Steele. He not only did not say anything positive about the Party he once headed, he now sees his own party through the left-wing prism.
He had nothing good to say about the Republican Party … its devotion to conservative principles … the thousands of GOP office holders … the advances the GOP made in most of the elections in 2020 … and the 70-plus million voters who cast their ballots for the Party of Lincoln.
Anyone who has seen Steele in action in the past four years knows that he has not only abandoned the Republican Party – although he is still falsely advertised as a GOP commentator – he has completely surrendered any conservative principles he may have once held.
Steele has hitched his fame and fortune to being a paid contributor to … yep! … MSNBC. He also signed on as an advisor to the misnamed Lincoln Project. The Lincoln Project is that band of conservative Republican apostates founded and headed, until recently, by married sexual predator John Weaver. Weaver was found offering jobs to young men in return for sexual favors. That is another story that you do not find in the left-wing media. But I digress.
The line-up of host Johnson, DNC Chairman Perez, and false-flagger Steele meant that there was no defense of the Republican Party. There was no positive assessment. It was just more of the anti-Republican, anti-conservative script parroted by left-wing personalities.
This is not the first time Perez and Steele teamed-up to demonize the GOP. They have become a traveling roadshow selling that act as some sort of dialogue between opposing sides (pictured above). That billing is as phony as a label on a snake oil bottle. I am amazed and saddened that the profession of journalism has become the chief marketing operation for snake oil.
So, there ‘tis.
