Hunter Biden to Teach College Students Course on “Fake News”
Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana announced that President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden will help teach students about the issue of “fake news” later this year.
As Fox News reports, “Media Polarization and Public Policy Impacts” is a course that focuses on “the current state of the media landscape in the United States and how media polarization, fake news and the economics of the new business impact public policymaking in Washington DC.”
According to The Daily Wire, Hunter Biden is one of many guest speakers scheduled to contribute to the course during the Fall 2021 semester. Out of the seven planned speakers, only one is from a conservative-leaning news outlet.
Some people are confused about the university including Hunter Biden in such a discussion, as he is not a member of the media in any capacity. Tulane University has not made it clear exactly why they chose him as a speaker. The reason could be that recent stories related to Hunter have been presented quite differently by different media outlets.
For example, it was reported last year that Biden had been making a lot of money working for a Ukrainian energy company, Burisma, despite having almost no relevant qualifications. This lead to allegations of corruption. Many believed Hunter was using his last name to get the job.
Then there was the Hunter Biden Laptop Story, which is actually a perfect example of media polarization. Right-wing news outlets pressed for more information, while their left-wing counterparts barely reported on it. Many of them even dismissed the whole thing as “fake news,” and claimed it was Russian disinformation.Due to Hunter Biden’s recent notoriety, the course will probably be very popular among students at Tulane.
