FAKE NEWS ALERT: Leftist’s Accusation of Migrants Whipped Prove To Be False

Remember how the mainstream media and the democrats whipped the country up into a frenzy over images that appeared to show border patrol agents beating illegal migrants with horse reins?  

With so much hoopla being made over the alleged incidents, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) launched a full-scale misconduct investigation. That investigation has just closed, and CBP concluded that there was “no evidence any agent struck—intentionally or otherwise—any migrant with their reins.”

This means that those images you saw on CNN and other mainstream outlets voiced over with “outrage” over abuse by CBP agents on “innocent” migrants were just a steaming pile of fake news!

The closing of the investigation and its conclusions brings to an end a yearlong media frenzy, which began in September 2021 when news outlets devoted wall-to-wall coverage to a single photograph that they claimed showed Border Patrol agents on horseback whipping Haitian migrants.

Even as the truth of what was really going on in the photo began to come clear, mainstream left-leaning outlets kept pushing their false narrative. NBC News referred to an “apparent whip,” while Axios described agents “reportedly whipping” migrants.

Democrats from Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi on down were “appalled” by the “beatings.” 

And yet now we have proof that no such thing ever happened – what appeared to be CBP officers on horseback “whipping migrants” was, in fact, them using their reins to control their horses so that said migrants would not be trampled or other was injured by the large equines.

Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Chris Magnus addressed the media frenzy in last week’s memo about the conclusions of the investigation.

“A thorough investigation was done despite comments or criticisms made by anyone in the media,” Magnus wrote. “Not everyone will agree with the findings, but the investigation was comprehensive and fair.”
