A UK man slit his own throat on Facebook Live after a confrontation with pedophile hunters.
The 55-year-old alleged sexual predator survived the suicide attempt and was charged with “suspicion of grooming a child under 14” and charged for possessing the knife he used to try to take his life live on camera.
Apparently, the men ran to his car to try to escape the group of “pedo-hunters.”
The since-deleted violently disturbing post reportedly showed the man reaching into his car for a knife and slashing the blade across his throat in a Liverpool parking lot near a police station.
According to the NY Post, the 55-year-old suspect survived the apparent suicide attempt and was arrested on suspicion of grooming a child under 14 and possession of a bladed article after he was taken to the hospital, officials told the outlet.
The NY Post report did not identify who exactly confronted the unidentified suspect or who streamed the incident.
However, The Mirror UK reported that the incident caused a large police presence to respond to St Chad’s Drive short stay car park, which is directly across the street from the Kirkby Police Station.
A passerby and DJ at a locked pub was arriving for work around 5pm and said police were everywhere, and it caused people in the area to gather and watch.
One of those standing and watching said, “I think it’s bringing Kirkby to its knees. It worries me all the police and knives what’s happening.”
Authorities put up curtains to block the view of gawkers. The potential pedophile’s car was towed away.
Merseyside Police later provided a statement and said, “The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his throat following the incident where he remains in a stable condition.”
