Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) says that illegal aliens who are busted for pot should be pardoned!
On Thursday, President Joe Biden pardoned “all prior Federal offenses of simple possession of marijuana.” Which immediately prompted far-left social democrat AOC to say that the presidential pardon should also apply to migrants.
“We can’t have equal justice under the law until illegal aliens busted with simple pot possession receive a presidential pardon,” Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said in response to Biden’s decree.
The official proclamation declared that the order “does not apply to individuals who were non-citizens not lawfully present in the United States at the time of their offense.” The phrase “non-citizens not lawfully present in the United States” means illegal aliens, but for some reason, Democrats not only find that term offensive, they believe that such illegals deserve to be pardoned as well.
AOC tweeted her praise for Biden’s move but added that POTUS “should treat all people equally and pardon ALL unjust simple possession convictions, not some.”
“If the US is admitting these laws were unjust, then we shouldn’t discriminate pardons based on citizen status,” she added. “Let’s get that liberty and justice for ALL.”
According to CNN, “during fiscal year 2021, some 72% of federal offenders in a case of marijuana possession were non-citizens.” However, it should be noted that data doesn’t differentiate between those unlawfully present in the US and those legally here, such as green card holders.
Regardless, an immigration attorney told CNN that simple marijuana possession charges could prevent individuals from finding safe harbor in the US.
“If you’re in deportation proceedings or applying for a visa or applying [sic] green card, and you’re charged for possession, you will be denied. And you won’t be eligible for a waiver,” he said.
So why would AOC, the darling of the progressive left, want amnesty for illegals and non-citizens who are caught with pot?
The simple answer? Illegal immigrants, as well as potheads and other drug-users, are key demographics for the Democratic voting block.
AOC’s website claims, “It is beyond time for a path to citizenship for all undocumented people in our country.” Of course, “all undocumented people” would suggest AOC wants citizenship for every illegal alien in the US, including those convicted of far worse crimes than marijuana charges — murder, rape, and more.
Vice President Kamala Harris is also intent on creating millions of new citizens out of those who entered the country unlawfully.
Just last month, Harris told NBC’s Chuck Todd that we needed to solve the border crisis by putting “into place a law and a plan for a pathway for citizenship for the millions of people who are here and are prepared to do what is legally required to gain citizenship.”

As usual, AOC is whistling through her bonnet (or backside, whichever is most convenient).. What part of ILLEGAL does she not understand??? Her and the Left’s assertion that NON-citizens who are here ILLEGALLY by ignoring the established protocols for coming to our Country should also be given the full privilege and protection of our laws and ordinances is far past absurdity – it is a slap to the face of every LAW ABIDING US citizen. The fact that they broke a law to get into this country and then proceeded to break additional laws after their arrival speaks volumes as to their intentions – and even respective capacities – to keep ANY of our laws while they are here. A quick review of the challenges those cities along the border are currently having with just such individuals is a clear indicator of that inevitability. I have great empathy for and support the migrants who honor both our laws and our legal system. They definitely should be given every opportunity to enter and become integrated into our society and economy. Those who are not willing or capable of doing the same should not be allowed entry unless and until they can adequately demonstrate and similar orientation and commitment to our way of life.
