Many lawmakers have made money on stock tips, but few have gotten as rich off of it or raised “insider trading” to the level that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has.
In Pelosi’s case, her husband has become a millionaire on “wife privilege,” amassing a fortune trading on info provided to him by the House Speaker.
Democratic leaders have just killed a bill that would criminalize that kind of “insider trading,” including by spouses or other family members of those serving in Congress.
To be sure, this is not just a problem among Democrats. A fifth of Congress, including GOP members, have had stock transactions that are questionable. Specifically, “from 2019 to 2021, 183 current senators and representatives reported a trade of stock or another financial asset by themselves or an immediate family member.”
There is a simple fix; even the implication of any impropriety would be eliminated by not trading while in office.
But there is absolutely no reason why lawmakers should not be held accountable to the same standards as the general public. If you or I worked for a company that was about to undergo a huge merger or acquisition and made investments accordingly, we could be brought up on felony charges. Not so, members of Congress.
But a bill that was designed to change all that which was pushed hard by Republicans and supported by many Democrats was tanked by the “Queen of the Insiders,” Nancy Pelosi herself.
It is no coincidence that according to Barron’s, the three lawmakers who have made the most on stock trading are none other than “top tier” anti-Trump Democrats, Pelosi, Adam Schiff, and Democrat colleague Senator Diane Feinstein.
There is a lot to be disgusted by the actions in Congress on both sides of the aisle, but when it comes to voting in the midterms, and you hear of the “woke social activism” of the Democrats who say their only agenda is to serve the people and better the lives of the unfortunate, think about why they tanked a bill that keeps legal for them something that is illegal for the rest of us – and has allowed them to make millions?
Who are Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats really serving?
They are serving them selves. The saddest part of this is we are paying them to do so.
They say the are going to DC and do the peoples choice. Protect the people, do they?
No they do not even think about the people, their goal seems to be, HOW CAN I STAY HERE AND GET RICH??????
Something needs to change, they have far too much power. Now they are trying to even silence the people .

Laws for thee but not me. Do as, I say and agree with me or you’re a racist. What I do is for you so shut up and sit down. Let me be clear ask no questions because I can’t tell the truth. The rat’s mottoes have become clear. Vote them out! All of the self-seekers. This is a government of the people, for the people and by the people not of deception and lies. Why is so hard to be good and do the right thing.
