Former vice president Mike Pence is set to be questioned regarding the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack. This is after Pence has previously discussed openly that he knew of Donald Trump’s alleged criminal intent.
Ryan Goodman, a New York University law professor and former special counsel at the Department of Defense, tweeted out a segment from Pence’s interview with ABC’s World News Tonight anchor David Muir. In the clip, Muir asks Pence whether he was aware of Trump’s tweets during the Capitol Riot. At the time the former President had tweeted that Pence lacked the courage to do what was needed in order to prevent the certification of the 2020 election results. The certification was meant to take place on January 6th, 2021.
Trump allegedly sent out these tweets only minutes after Pence had been escorted to safety. During the insurrection, Trump supporters were loudly chanting “hang Mike Pence”.
In response to this Pence said that he had been “angered” by Trump’s tweets. He also noted that at the time he had been standing near his daughter and he turned to her to tell her that it was upholding the law that took courage, not breaking it.
Pence also added that Trump’s “words” had been “reckless” and that instead of helping with solutions he was choosing to be a part of the problem.
Goodman shared the clip on Twitter and wrote that the Jan. 6 committee could reference this clip and even interview Pence.
Pence has previously said that he would be potentially open to testifying to the House Select Committee in charge of the Jan.6 investigation
What a waste of taxpayers money. The niggeRAT party can piss it away faster then anyone!
Questioning him doesn’t necessarily mean they are investigating him.
You are right on. The Left will use Pence’s testimony to bring criminal charges against Trump.
