Donald Trump has said that conservative judges on the Supreme Court are trying to appear impartial, which makes fair decisions for Republicans that much harder to get. In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote extensively about how right-wing judges currently sitting on the SCOTUS bench are trying as hard as they can to appear completely unbiased in their ruling, however, this is not a characteristic that Democrat-appointed judges also share.
These statements came only one day after the Supreme Court ruled that the former president’s tax returns should be released to the Democrat-controlled House Ways and Means Committee. The committee has spent the past three years investigating Trump and how compliant he was with Internal Revenue Service auditing.
None of the SCOTUS judges, whether conservative or not, chose to vote against the financial records being released. This includes the three Justices – Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett – appointed by Trump. With the Supreme Court’s approval, the House committee can now officially get the records requested from the IRS.
While posting on Truth Social Trump said that Republican Judges and Justices always do everything they can to show that they are “in no way ‘beholden’ to the person or party” that is responsible for the position they hold. However, A Democrat Judge or Justice does not always act in that same way, which essentially makes it nearly impossible for Republicans to get “a fair decision”.
