Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, has joined ‘Jesse Watters Primetime’ to criticize veteran ABC journalist Martha Raddatz and the White House over their suggestion that the crisis in the southern border was partly created by the Republicans.

Abbott on Tuesday responded to a clip from his interview with Martha Raddatz during which Raddatz had said that she had never heard President Biden say “open border” and instead that that term had frequently been used by Abbott, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, and former President Donald Trump.

Abbott told “Jesse Watters Primetime” that Raddatz’s claim that this time of messaging is carried across Mexico and beyond and used by cartel smugglers is untrue. He added that even the suggestion of such a thing is “crazy.”

He added that this is just further evidence that mainstream media has no clue about the border and that it was Joe Biden’s spokesperson who had said that the “border’s not open.”

Abbott also compared the Biden and Trump administrations to say that during the Trump administration the border had been the most secure he has seen in decades. During the Trump administration, there was the Remain in Mexico endeavor along with the Title 42 policy which allowed for the deportation of immigrants and ended the “catch-and-release” of illegal immigrants policy. He added that during Trump’s administration they had the lowest number of border crossings in the last century, but that now under Biden they were hitting record numbers of crossings each month. He continued on to say that this is “all because of Joe Biden’s policies.”
