A recent photo of Elon Musk along with Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner during the final of the World Cup between France and Argentina in Qatar caused a lot of uproar on Twitter.
The picture of the two has led to many people wondering what the relationship between the two was. Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen even retweeted the photo shared by Representative Eric Swalwell, a California Democrat, which had the caption: “They say a picture is worth a thousand words…”
Cohen then wrote, “More like 2 billion!”
This was a reference to Kushner receiving a $2 billion investment from the Public Investment Fund led by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman soon after he left the White House. In June the House Oversight Committee said that they would be probing into the deal.
The money was invested in Kushner’s newly established private equity firm Affinity Partners, which would give the fund around 28 percent of the firm’s stake. The relationship between the crown prince and Kushner began with a meeting in 2016.
On Twitter, YouTube personality Philip DeFranco wrote: “Famed free speech warrior and centrist Elon Musk, hanging out with Jared Kushner at the World Cup as Twitter announces a HUGE social media crackdown.”
Many others joined in the criticism both on Twitter and other platforms.
